Adrian began his career in Memphis as a high school English teacher, guiding students through literature, writing, and critical thinking. Teaching sharpened his skills as a communicator and mentor, but it also sparked a deeper curiosity about how he could help young people beyond the classroom walls. That decision to step away from teaching wasn’t easy, but it set him on a path that would eventually lead to his role at LITE Memphis.
Today, as Executive Director of LITE Memphis, Adrian channels those same skills into creating space for young people to dream bigger. Rather than focusing on business plans or profit margins, his approach centers on identity, purpose, and creativity—asking students who they are, what matters most to them, and how they can bring those ideas to life. Under his leadership, students learn not just to pitch projects, but to believe in their own voices and possibilities.
That belief is personal for Adrian. He often recalls the mentors and teachers who saw potential in him, and now he steps into that role for others. Whether it’s encouraging a shy student backstage before a presentation or sitting down for a one-on-one conversation about an idea that feels too small, Adrian’s presence reminds students that their dreams are valid. His favorite moments in Memphis are watching those sparks of confidence ignite, as young people carry their ideas forward with pride.
For Adrian, Memphis isn’t just where he works—it’s the community that shapes and uplifts his purpose. And through his work with LITE Memphis, he’s making sure the next generation has the same chance to be seen, guided, and believed in.
